R.I.P Misty
We are saddened to report that our beautiful Misty has passed away. Misty was 23 years old. She was a beautiful shiny copper quarter horse mare.
Misty came to Hope Ranch in 2017. She was donated by Dr. Tung & Dr. Mabry and we want to express our gratitude to them and their daughters as Misty was their horse.
She had many amazing qualities and was truly beautiful inside and out. Everyone who met her found her to be very sweet and kind with just enough attitude which added an element of fun. She totally bossed our largest horse in the herd around. She would take his food if she had a chance. If he tried to get at his food she would push her backside into him and he’d skedaddle! What was her favorite food, you may wonder? Her favorite food was “all of it”.
Misty loved the kids and they could do anything around her. If she saw the kids she would immediately go to the gate.
Misty passed away on February 6 at 7:30 pm. She developed a neurological illness that came on very suddenly. It was likely EPM or a stroke.
She made such a difference in so many lives. She will be missed. We are grateful for her time at The Ranch and all that she taught us.
